Pregnancy & Postpartum

The nine months of pregnancy highlight progressive postural and hormonal changes occurring in your body, as your baby grows. While these physical changes are normal, for many women these changes result in pain. With a particular focus on assessing and treating the biomechanical changes occurring week-to-week, I aim to help your body adjust to the physical changes during pregnancy, optimise your posture, reduce pain and discomfort and help prepare your body for labour and delivery.

The physical and hormonal changes to the mother’s body persist well after birth. Whether you have had a vaginal or caesarean delivery. Through gentle hands on treatment I aim to help your body continue to adapt in the postpartum period. â€‹

Clinical Exercise Rehab (Pilates) for pregnancy & postpartum

As an osteopath and Clinical Pilates Instructor, I see the benefits and importance of movement to aid in and optimise a hands-on treatment approach.

Your program will be uniquely tailored to you! During pregnancy, these exercises will focus on addressing the key postural changes occurring throughout pregnancy as well as help with labour preparation postures and positions. During the postpartum period, there is a particular emphasis on pelvic floor and abdominal muscle retraining as well as rebuilding global strength and mobility.

How I can help: Pregnancy strength traininf, pelvic floor rehab, DRAM rehab (abdominal separation), rehab for pelvic organ prolapse, return to exercise after birth.
